Eight Week Beginner’s Improv Class at the Eureka Theater starts Tuesday, August 26th and runs every Tuesday through October 14th from 6-8 pm!
Beginning Improv Classes will start from 6-8 pm every Tuesday, August 26th through October 14th, led by Instructor JillAnne Aden. JillAnne has been professionally teaching and performing improv comedy and team building in San Diego’s Long Form Improv Community for many years and currently works as on-air talent with Bicoastal Media’s Power 96.3 in Eureka! She loves to share what the world of improv and the power of “Yes, and…” can do for you!
Classes will focus on Beginning Improvisational Comedy with a focus on good communication and lots of laughter in a safe and supportive environment. Improv is a great way to develop social skills, help with public speaking and develop and increase self confidence! Whether you are someone looking to explore a new hobby, develop skills, or just socialize in a new community, improv is for everyone!
All classes are 21+ with 8 weeks of two hour classes and an optional student showcase performance that will benefit The Eureka Theater. Students will receive additional information with our class code of conduct and learning materials in the first class of the session.
Classes are $275 for the full 8 weeks. Payments may be made through major credit cards and Apple Pay.
For an opportunity to receive assistance, ONE SCHOLARSHIP is available per class term, at the instructor’s discretion, available until one week before start of session, or until the class fills, whichever comes first. For information regarding a financial scholarship opportunity, please write to jillanneaden@gmail.com for that and any other inquiries.
I believe that continued play in improv helps everyone at all levels, students and teachers alike. It never stops teaching you things, truly. And it is always great for a laugh.
My students and community members have shown me time and again over the years the power improv can give people in their daily lives.
I believe in the central principles of improv and passing those down from teachers to students, handing these core values down from one generation to the next.
At it’s base are:
Creation and Collaboration
Agreement and Reciprocity
Staying Grounded and in the Moment
Listening and Learning
Celebrating Our “Mistakes”
